David is guiding Brightspot to become one of the fastest growing and most innovative product development companies around. Prior to Brightspot, David served as Executive Vice President, Products and Programming, and Chief Technology Officer for WebMD. He was responsible for the development and delivery of WebMD Health’s consumer-facing products and programming for the company’s new public health portal, which launched in 2007. In addition, as Chief Technology Officer, he directly managed the technical development and operations organization across all areas of WebMD Health.
Prior to WebMD Health, David held the position of Executive Vice President, AOL Products. In this role, he was responsible for product strategy, development, and quality delivery for AOL's consumer products and services across the company's Access, Audience, and Digital Services business units. He also oversaw strategy, development, and quality for products shared across various AOL platforms including dial-up, broadband, wireless and voice.
David also served as Executive Vice President, Product Marketing, responsible for product strategy for the AOL service, AOL brands, and AOL Web Properties. In an earlier role as Senior Vice President for Strategic Development, he focused on strategic issues, enterprise service operations, customer quality and new product initiatives for all AOL brands. Under his leadership at AOL, several popular products were introduced including America Online 3.0, America Online 8.0, America Online 9.0, AOL's Parental Controls feature, AOL® Instant Messenger™ (AIM®), AOL.COM®, and AOL Buddy List® feature.
Before joining AOL, David led the product groups at Aldus Consumer Division from 1992 to 1994. He also served as President of After Hours Software from 1990 to 1992.
David is a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
