David brings more than 20 years of financial and operational expertise in large and medium-sized software, digital and multimedia enterprises. He oversees all financial aspects of the company, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, cash management and business intelligence. As a member of the leadership team, David works across all functional areas (sales, human resources, operations) to establish systems and processes to achieve the company's strategic growth objectives.
Prior to joining Brightspot, David worked at two private equity-backed software companies including Tomia, Inc. (Vista Equity Partners) and INVISION, Inc. (acquired by Mediaocean LLC via Vista Equity Partners in 2016). At both companies, David worked in senior finance positions with responsibilities ranging from building the FP&A function at Tomia, Inc. to overseeing all accounting, FP&A, treasury and tax functions at INVISION, Inc.
David also worked at AOL, where he held a variety of senior accounting and financial planning and analysis roles, including VP of Corporate Financial Planning. In this role, he oversaw the consolidation and reporting of AOL’s results, budgeting and long-term planning processes. At AOL, David was also the VP and Assistant Controller overseeing a global team responsible for billing and accounting for AOL's advertising and subscription service businesses with revenue in excess of $3 billion.
David is a CPA and started his career in public accounting with PwC. He has a B.S. in Accounting and MBA from The College of William and Mary.
