External RSS Feed


You can configure an external RSS feed and display its items as external promos on your Brightspot site. After the feed is published, you can insert it into a News RSS Feed List module. For details, see News RSS Feed List module.

To configure an external RSS feed:

  1. In the header, click add.
  2. From the Create list, select External RSS Feed.
  3. Using the following table as a reference, complete the fields as needed.
  4. Complete your site's workflow and publish the asset.

    Note
    Once the feed is published, Brightspot displays the RSS Feed Viewer widget in the right rail. Click View Feed to view the XML markup of the RSS feed.

External RSS Feed fields

FieldDescription
Internal NameEnter an internal name for this asset. Brightspot uses this name internally, such as in the search panel and recent activity widget. This name is not visible to visitors to your site.
Feed URLThe external URL that provides the feed.

FieldDescription
Cache SettingsConfigure cache settings. For details, see Configuring external RSS feed's cache settings.

The information on this tab presents a graphical or tabular representation of this asset's analytics. For information about configuring analytics ingestion and presentation, see Brightspot Analytics and Google Analytics.

FieldDescription
LocaleSets the content's locale. This setting can also be used to auto-localize content based on the users requested locale.
